Elena Shatrova is a highly experienced investment manager, specialized in the integration of ESG factors.

She worked for Santander Asset Management for 16 years in Spain and the United Kingdom (2006-2022). In her last position, as Head of ESG in Latin America, she developed, enhanced, and implemented ESG strategies in the company’s Latin American divisions. Elena chaired ESG Regional Committees and was a member of the ESG Executive Committee.

She worked as Portfolio Manager on Latin American Equities from 2011 to 2022. The strategy was awarded “Best Fund over 10 years in the Emerging Markets” at the Lipper Funds Awards from Refinitiv in 2019. Previously, she was a member of the Emerging Markets team as a Portfolio Manager for Eastern European and EM strategies. The Eastern European strategy outperformed the benchmark and ranked in the top quartile under her leadership.

Elena Shatrova began her investment career in 2002 in internal auditing at Ernst & Young, Madrid.

She holds a degree in Economics, B.B.A. from the International University in Moscow, with Honours, and an M.B.A. from the European School of Business, Madrid, with Honours. She successfully completed the Business Sustainability Management program at the University of Cambridge in 2018, and she holds the CFA ESG certification.

Elena speaks English, Russian, Spanish and Portuguese.
