Granito Group President nominated StartUp Portugal Ambassador

The first group of ambassadors was selected by StartUp Portugal, the agency tasked to promote globally the Portuguese strategy on entrepreneurship and the national innovation ecosystem.

Granito Group’s President Rodrigo Tavares was nominated today StartUp Portugal Ambassador, joining a group of four "Portuguese personalities with international careers and regular presence in conferences who stand out in areas such as business, science, and arts."

Ambassadors will support StartUp Portugal’s mission to promote globally the Portuguese strategy on entrepreneurship and the national innovation ecosystem. 

The first four Ambassadors are:

  • Maria Mota, one of the world’s most recognized scientists on the biology & physiology of malaria. She received the Pessoa Award in 2013, granted annually to the most distinguished Portuguese person in the areas of science, arts or literature.

  • Miguel Pina Martins, Founder and CEO of educational toys-manufacturing company Science4You, and one of the leading Portuguese entrepreneurs.

  • Alexandre Farto, aka Vhils, a graffiti/street artist. In 2015 he was presented with the Person of the Year Award by the Foreign Press Association in Portugal.

  • Rodrigo Tavares, Founder and President Granito Group, and World Economic Forum Young Global Leader.
